ITI was founded in 2005 to commercialize DNA vaccines using LAMP technology.  The Company is supported by a team of scientific advisors led by the scientific founder of ITI,  Dr. J. Thomas August and a management team directed by Dr. Bill Hearl, a serial biotech entrepreneur.  "LAMP" is an intracellular protein acting as an "immunological potentiator" when incorporated into DNA vaccines. The LAMP signal sequences direct the antigen / allergen chimeric protein to activate an important subset of T cells resulting in immune activation and memory. The LAMP technology has been proven in research laboratories around the world addressing such diverse targets as cancer, HIV, infectious disease and allergy. The robust publication record for the technology includes successful clinical trials conducted at Duke University for a cancer vaccine which targets telomerase.
