Proteus Energy Corporation acquires, redevelops and operates oil and gas fields located in California and other domestic and foreign locations. Brownfield development is an overlooked niche in the market that can provide investment returns comparable to oil and gas exploration plays, but with significantly reduced levels of financial and development risk. The company’s primary focus is on field redevelopment and resource recovery in the exploitation sector of the oil and gas business. They combine domestic and internationally experienced, highly nimble, sophisticated energy M&A team with a seasoned field operations and business management team. Proteus currently owns or are under contract to acquire working interests in four properties in California, and have a number of additional potential acquisitions in advanced stages of due diligence.
